Duane, you come from near where I was born, Albany (Stearns) MN.  I note on your Posen-L research page that you say Wissek is now "Wyrzysk".  Actually, Wissek is now "Wysoka", but it is in the county of Wyrzysk (or formerly called Wirsitz Kreis (county) during German rule).
I also see you are researching BOECK.  I have some BOECKs I am tracking in Wirsitz County and nearby, such as Johann Eduard Boeck (1829), who married a Julianne WITT (1837), sister to my g-grandmother Ernestine WITT.  "Eduard" and Julianne had 9 children.  His parents were Johann BOECK and Louise IKIER who resided around Lobsens parish, also Wirsitz County.  What information do you have on BOECKs?
You also say you have "No access" to an LDS centre, and yet you reside in Cold Spring.  You can check the Family Search website and see the list of LDS Family History Centres in Minnesota and elsewhere.  I know there is one in Minneapolis (Golden Valley area) on Douglas Drive (where my brother Dave does his research), and probably there is one at St. Cloud.  Maybe there is even one closer.  It's well worth any drive to be able to see films of the church records of one's ancestors.  Check it out as soon as possible.
Anyway, I hope to hear further from you.  I have seen lots of KUSS names in my research of films in Wirsitz County plus many others you mention.  Have you verified your Friedrich Wilhelm Kuss by someone (or you) seeing a film of the church records (in this case, Grabau records).  I can do it, if you haven't already.
All the best in your research.   Ken Neumann

Samuel Warner was born i Blue Earth township April 9, 1866. At the age of sixteen he went to the state of Michigan, where he resided about a year. The rest of his life, with the exception of a few years during which he resided in Blue Earth, he lived on the farm in Blue Earth township, where he had been born. Novemeber 11, 1888, he was married to Mary Naumann of Elmore township. This union was graced with seven children, three sons and four daughters.

Mr. Warner enjoyed an exceptional good health in his life. However, last September a lameness of his limbs set in which in course of time became total. More recently it was found that he was suffering from anaemia. About, three weeks ago he was confined to his bed and continued to become weaker and weaker. During this time he acquainted himself with Christianity, acknowledged and professed it, and received the Holy Baptism.

The middle of last week he fell into coma. His end came Friday evening at 9:40 o’clock. He attained the age of 66 years, 9 months, and 21 days. (Jan. 20, 1933)

Deceased is survived by his widow, Mary Warner, three sons, four daughters, 19 grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, and many other relatives.

Funeral services, at which Rev. G. Schmidt of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiated, were held at the Warner home Tuesday (Monday) afternoon. Interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Hawkins of Wesley, Iowa attended the services of Sam Warner here Monday.

Hello, “fellow” Warner family researchers:
After many inquiries and much digging around, I finally tracked down the official marriage record of James and Cordelia on 10 Sept 1839.  The LDS microfilm I had ordered several months ago finally arrived this week and, after a little looking, I found their record at the end of a hand-written paragraph with another couple’s marriage record.  They were married in Niles, MI, by a Justice of the Peace.  Their record and the other one was sent to the county clerk in St. Joseph, Berrien County where it was manually transcribed on October 7, 1839, into the Record of Marriages, Book B, page 8.
The text of the record is:
“…Also Niles Sept 10 1839 Mr. James W. Warner aged Twenty one years and wife Cordelia Shed aged Fifteen years both residents of Galena La Port County Indiana contracted marriage in presence of Henry Skerry [or something like that—hard to read the handwriting!] & Henrietta Wilcox witnesses both residents of said Galena at the Niles Exchange kept by Seneca A. Brownek [sp?] in said Niles Berrien County Michigan
Jon a Brown  Justice of the Peace
State of Michigan
County of Berrien”
In different handwriting in the white space on the page:
“Niles Township Oct 3, 1839. I certify the above to be a transcript of my record of my record of the above marriages.  Jon A Brown  Justice of the Peace”
Recorded Oct.  7, 1839
A Bennett clerk

Interestingly, on the opposite page, the marriage record of Asa Paddock and Adaline Tappan of La Porte Co. (neighbors of the Warners in Galena Township) was recorded on the following day. Witnesses for this marriage were Erasmus M. Shead and Malinda Shead (Cordelia’s older siblings), and the Justice of the Peace was Sylvester Shead (Cordelia’s father).
Makes me wonder why Sylvester didn’t perform the marriage for James and Cordelia.  Maybe they eloped!

Greetings:

I can't remember if I sent information to you previously about my actually receiving "First Families of La Porte County, Indiana" certificates for Aaron Warner (FFLPC Certif. #148) and James W. Warner (FFLPC Certif. #147). Now that the certificates are approved (as of Dec. 2006), you can apply for one for your own branch of the family if this is of interest to you. In the attached application, you would need to replace some information with your own family line/evidence wherever you fit in. You can find the application information, fees, etc., on-line at the La Porte County Genealogical Society at < www.rootsweb.com/~inlcigs >.

I still have not completed my application papers for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. That project keeps slipping from the top of my project priority list. Maybe after this summer wanes....  The ladies at the local DAR chapter whose meetings I attend periodically are really beginning to wonder about me!  I think I can apply for DAR membership through 2 different lines---through Cordelia Shed (Mrs. James W. Warner) and the Shed family line, and through Harriet Gridley (Mrs. Aaron Warner) and the Gridley family line.

We still haven't figured out who Aaron Warner's father was. A possibility is Haniel (or "Hanniel" or "Hannel") Warner, who was enumerated on the 1790 Federal Census of West Stockbridge, Berkshire County, MA; who was enumerated on the 1800 Federal Census in Harpersfield, Delaware County, NY; and who was enumerated on the 1810 Federal Census in Camillus, Onondaga County, NY.
